• Policy Agendas Project announces the release of a new dataset of Congressional Roll Call Voting records (1947-2000). The data is currently only available for download and is not accessible via the data tools.
• Hearings data updated through 2005.

Preliminary data available for Cert Denied Dataset (8/10/06)

• Data for the years 1947 through 1957 is now available for the newest addition to our dataset line, the Supreme Court Cert Denied dataset.

NY Times Update through 2003 (8/8/06)

Budget Crosswalk Update

• The budget crosswalk has been updated to include all new topics in both the Agendas and budget coding systems.

New Supreme Court Dataset (7/12/06)

• The Policy Agendas Project announces the release of a new Supreme Court Dataset
• The dataset codes Supreme Court cases based on their policy content with the common topics coding system, allowing users to compare the Supreme Court with other major governmental institutions and public opinion.

Data Update (4/25/06)

• Hearings dataset updated through 2003 with partial data in 2004.
• NY Times dataset updated through 2002.
• Public Laws dataset updated through 2004 with a new dynamic linking system which connects users to the full text and bill summary information for public laws from the 93rd Congress forward.
• Budget dataset updated through 2004 and available for download or analysis using the datatools.

Presidential State of the Union Dataset added (2/17/06)

• This data set collects and codes all Presidential State of the Union speeches from 1946 through 2005 according to the Policy Agendas coding scheme.
• This is the second of two executive-branch data sets included in the Policy Agendas Database, allowing a comparison between policy priorities and attention in the Legislative and Executive branches of government.
• This data set is not yet available on the policy analysis or mixed policy and budget tools. Check back soon!

Teaching Resources Page (7/15/05)

• Do you have a course in American Politics, Public Policy or Congress that utilizes the data resources of the Policy Agendas Project? We are developing our teaching resources page and would like to invite you to submit course plans and syllabi to be posted on our website.

Publications Update (7/8/05)

• We are updating our publications page and would like to invite those individuals who have utilized Policy Agendas Data in a past or current project to submit a copy of the project abstract to ampol@u.washington.edu.

 National Science Foundation Coverage (4/1/05)

• The National Science Foundation is featuring the Policy Agendas Project website and policy analysis tools.
• Article highlights the contributions the project has made to the systematic study of public policy processes.
