New York Times stories can be filtered by region and scope of story.

You can chose to include only stories that discuss different government actors or groups, or exclude stories that discuss them. The default for these distinctions is to apply no filter.

U.S. Public Laws (Statutes) (1948-2005) [abstract]

Statutes are distinguished by whether they are commemorative or non-commemorative, whether they were vetoed by the president (and therefore there was a succuessful veto override) or not, and whether the related bill had been introduced by a Democrat.
